About Purva Vaidurya Buddhist Monastery

was built in Pontianak , West Kalimantan on year 2015 and on year 2019 held installation ceremony of Holy Statues . This Buddhist Monastery was stand on 1 Hectare land with 2 storey building that combined harmonious traditional and modern elements that showed the Buddha Dharma has been inherited for more than 2600 years ago can continue until the modern era.The project of the establishment of the Purva Vaidurya Monastery can run until now on the basis of the help of all Buddhists from all over who have such a great determination of Bodhicitta that is to build a monastery that teaches the truth teachings of Dharma to all beings.

History

In 2015, Mahavira Temple received funds in the form of 1 ha of land from Tuan Huang in Pontianak, West Kalimantan to establish a place for Dharma preaching and self-training through a combination of Zen flow methods and Recitation of Buddha-Bodhisattva names. After several years, finally under the guidance of the Head of the Temple, Mahanayaka Chaokun Hui Xiong began the project of establishing 1,296 m2 Purva Vaidurya Monastery

Architecture

This Buddhist Monastery was stand on 1 Hectare land with 2 storey building . on the First floor consists of Two prayer Halls.The Grandhall enshrines from granite stone carved of Tang style colored Bhaisajyaguru Buddha and 8 Maha Bodhisattvas with gold plated semeru backlit seat carved from taekwood also with Ming style of Skanda & Samgharama Bodhisattva. and one the Back hall (Bhaktisala) enshrines mandala of Tang style colored Bhaisajyaguru Buddha along with 8 Maha Bodhisattvas carved from camphor wood. Back hall also enshrines wood carved of Tang style of the Dharma Guardians 12 Maha Yaksa. On the Second Floor is the resting place for the Monks.
