Vihara Mahavira Graha View Bedugul was established in the eastern part of Indonesia, located in the Tourist destination area of Bali Island called Bedugul.The temple is built on approximately 10.000 meters of the ground, this temple has 4 storey building with 120 rooms and a multipurpose building facing the mountains.

History

The temple is built on approximately 10.000 meters of the ground. At first, the temple building was a restaurant and recreation area, but due to the economic crisis in most of Southeast Asia country, many hotels and businesses went bankrupt, then had to undergo an auction process. In 1999, after the monastery foundation bought it, they then turned this place into a Buddhist monastery. The monastery building is shaped like an ancient palace surrounded by amusing scenery.

Architecture

Vihara Mahavira Graha View Bedugul is built on approximately 10.000 meters of the ground, this temple has 4 storey building with 120 rooms and a multipurpose building facing the mountains.The Dharmasala hall enshrines three bronze Buddha statues; the architectural resembles the art of University of Nalanda in ancient India. During this time, the Sangha in the North Thailand commemorates the 72nd anniversary of the King of Thailand, they made 108 Buddha statues out of Bronze. After holding a devotional service and blessing and then offers all the statues to all countries around the world. At that time, the Thai Sangha donated one statue for Mahavira Monastery, then followed by the 2 other bronze Buddha statues. They enshrines them, along with the first statue in Mahavira Graha View Bedugul Temple as a place of worship for local residence and tourist.

Activities

Now, Mahavira View Bedugul Temple hold weekly ceremony every Saturday, Sangha led local Buddhists to learn Buddhism together.
