The President of the World Buddhist Sangha Council, Venerable Master Hui Xiong, was invited to join Venerable Master Da Yi, the abbot of Wutai Mountain, for the grand consecration and opening ceremony of the Kṣitigarbha Hall. On the morning of November 20, the inaugural Offering to the Buddha and Heavenly Beings ceremony was held at Wutai Mountain in Canada as part of the consecration festivities.
In the three days leading up to the grand ceremony, Shanghai’s Longhua Ancient Temple was invited to lead the Compassionate Avataṃsaka Repentance ritual, perform the Yoga Flaming Mouth Offering, and conduct a Offering to the Buddha and Monastic Community ceremony. Additionally, monastic groups representing the three major linguistic traditions in Canada were invited to attend and accept offerings. The grand consecration ceremony of the Kṣitigarbha Hall was officially held at 1:00 PM that afternoon, conducted in strict accordance with Buddhist rituals and precepts.
On the day of the event, auspicious signs filled the skies above Wutai Mountain. Buddha’s light illuminated the venue, and the heavens bestowed blessings, symbolizing good fortune.
Venerable Master Da Yi, who also serves as Vice President of the World Buddhist Sangha Council, has dedicated years to advancing global Buddhist development. His efforts have significantly contributed to the growth of Buddhism in Canada.
