20th Anniversary of the Founding of Mahakaruna Buddhist Center Medan
Avamtasaka Auspicious Dharma Assembly Grand International Sangha-puja Ceremony

On December 12th to 13th, 2024, Mahakaruna Buddhist Center conducted Avamtasaka Auspicious Dharma Assembly. On the first day, our compassionate Chief Abbot Venerable Hui Siong led 16 sangha members to recite Avatamsaka characters in prayers that may the living be blessed with prosperousness, wisdom and long life, and may the deceased one can be reborn in Buddha’s Pure Land.
On the second day at 8 in the morning, Buddha Puja and Offerings to the Celestial Guardians Ceremony was held to pray for country’s prosperity and all sentient beings be free from disasters as well as blessed with prosperity and wisdom. The afternoon then started with dedication of merit from Puja Offerings, followed by worship of completion of repentance ceremony, circumambulate the Buddha’s mandala, respectfully seeing off Enlightened Beings: Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Celestial Guardians; also channel all the merits to the lived one for auspiciousness and for the deceased one can free from suffering. On the very evening, Venerables from across the countries arrived and attended a welcoming dinner.
On the 14th morning, the anniversary celebration began. Gathering 108 sangha members in the Main Hall to give incense offerings to Triratna. Vow to cut all evil and cultivate all goodness through giving puja offerings to Triratna. Respectfully inviting the sangha members to the Cloud Canopy Hall for Sangha-puja.
Blessing prayers conducted in 3 major languages. Dharma women committee make offerings to Buddha. Our temple’s international youth buddhist cultural association performed the Buddhist dance [The Fragrance of Sila and Samadhi]. Ten sangha members shared Dharma speech. All devotees completed the Sangha-puja ritual in accordance to Dharma. On the same day, the celebration successfully ended accompanied by Buddhist song [Chant Amitabha Buddha].
