Singapore Buddhist Federation organised the Buddhist Symposium Forum

On the morning of October 14, 2023, the 30th day of the eighth lunar month, the Singapore Buddhist Symposium Forum was organized by the Singapore Buddhist Federation at the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery Buddhist Auditorium.
The Guest of Honour Mr. Edwin Tong, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and the Second Minister of the Ministry of Law. Mr. Koh Boon Wan, the former Minister of Transport, the Ministry of National Development and the Health, he is currently the Chairman of SPH Media Holdings and New Press Media Trust, Abbot of Kong Meng San Most Venerable Guang Sheng and President of Singapore Buddhist Federation Most Venerable Guang Phing led the guests into the auditorium and presided over the opening ceremony.
Venerable Guang Phing, President of the Buddhist Council in his speech said in the digital age, human beings cannot achieve their goals in pursuing what they want. With the current development of information, misuse of it will have negative consequences for society and even cause harm. In a different era, that is, an era of advanced science and technology, we must find a balance in life through the culture of religion and Buddhism in order to achieve social harmony and human progress.
As early as half a year ago, the Abbot of Kong Meng San Monastery Venerable Guang Sheng invited the Singapore Buddhist Federation to convene various groups to discuss how Singapore will develop in the future. Therefore, with the consent of various groups, the Singapore Buddhist Symposium Forum was organized.
The guest of honour Mr Edwin Tong, Second Minister of Ministry of Law, said that he very welcome the Singapore Buddhist Federation to lead and organize the Singapore Buddhist Symposium Forum for the national society. Many Buddhists in Singapore, can gather together to attend the forums and contribute to social development.
Venerable Guang Phing, President of the Singapore Buddhist Federation distributed calligraphy souvenirs to the distinguished guests.
After the opening ceremony, various large groups in Singapore actively participate in forums, which showed that the society have established a higher level of harmony and that Buddhists are more united.
