Wihara Sila Praba Denpasar-Bali, Wihara Mahavira Graha Surabaya & Mahakaruna Buddhist Center conducted a series of blessing and lighting up ceremonies in welcoming the Chinese new year

On January 10, 2023 evening, the Venerable abbot led the sangha to Wihara Mahavira Graha Bali in Denpasar, to hold the welcome new year and blessing ceremony.

In the evening, all the Sangha prostrate and chant the Eighty-eight Buddhas Repentance Kshamayati Sutra.

Most Venerable Bo Rue from Australia was invited to have a Dharma Talk.

He said to do good deeds and obtain merits during the Chinese New Year, is to participate in the worship and Repentance ceremony. When we repent to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas at the prayer rites, we are letting go of all worries and vexations, by devoutly repenting of our mistakes, and the coming new year will bring us new hope.

On January 12, 2023, Wihara Mahavira Graha Surabaya at East Java held a Spring Festival blessing prayer ceremony.

The Venerable abbot led all residential Sangha to Surabaya to preside over the prayer ceremony. A New Year Gathering banquet was held on the night before.

On the morning of day 21st of the lunar twelfth month, the ritual offering to Buddhas and Celestial Guardians was held.

For the first time, a special and solemn grand prayer was held at the Temple in Surabaya.

The 24 solar terms in a year are safe by protected by the guardian celestial Devas.

At the same time, offerings to the Buddha, Dharma & Sangha ( Triple Gems) are held to achieve all good fortune and wisdom. All participants devoutly pray to the Lord Buddha & guardian Devas.

In the new year, through practice and cultivating supreme wisdom.

Most Venerable Bo Rue in his Dharma speech emphasizes that as a Buddhist, one respectfully makes offerings to the Triple gems can eliminate the sins of greed, hatred, ignorance, and doubt.
In the past year, we should have let go of all evil thoughts, hatred, jealousy, and unlucky life.
In this coming new year, bestow the blessing of the Lord Buddha, everything will go smoothly, all wishes will be fulfilled, the bodhicitta will cultivate, the merits of developing blessings and wisdom will be obtained, and the new year will bring great auspiciousness to everyone.

On January 13, 2023, the Buddhist Holy City Mahakaruna Buddhist Center in Medan conducted the welcomed new year auspicious mascot and lighting ceremony.

The Venerable abbot Accompanied by the Sangha, went to the Mahakaruna Buddhist center in Medan, to hold an auspicious lighting-up ceremony for the Spring Festival.

The Venerable abbot led all Sangha to sprinkle holy water, light up, pay homage, and chant the sutra.

The Venerable abbot said by doing good deeds to welcome the new year in the blessing prayer rites will accumulate virtue and cultivate blessings, but if you can chant scriptures and repent devoutly will achieve blessings and eliminate disasters, and purify our body, speech, and mind.

Chanting and repentance is an act of cultivating the path of Bodhi, freeing oneself of all afflictions, and letting go of hatred, jealousy, and revenge. When you can bear the pain of others, accept their mistakes and forgive others, you will be able to gain blessings and wisdom in the path of liberation you have cultivated, and you will be greatly liberated.

Get rid of all the evil karma you have done and obtain a pure mind, and the new year will surely be full of Buddha’s supreme light and great auspiciousness.

This time to welcome the new year, the Venerable abbot led the Sangha to every city to hold a blessing prayer. In the new year, you will be happy, everything will go well, you will gain merit, will be free from all worries and annoyances in the world, and will gain pure and solemn faith.
