Mahavira News:
Qingming is one of the 24 traditional solar terms observed by the Chinese, and it is an important festival rooted in cultural heritage. During this solemn event, the Qingming Dharma Assembly serves as an expression of gratitude and remembrance towards parents, elders, and ancestors, embodying the spirit of filial piety and heartfelt care.
On April 13 (the sixteenth day of the third lunar month), our monastery will hold the Monthly Dharma Blessing and Disaster Unveiling Meeting in the morning. Led by the sangha members, the devotees will collectively chant and pay homage through the Great Compassion Repentance Ceremony, praying for blessings, protection from calamities, and longevity for all participants.
After the communal lunch, at 2:00 pm, the Universal Dharma Liberation Assembly (Wuzhe Daochang) will be held in the main underground hall, with a special altar set up to dedicate merits to the ancestors of all family descendants. Through the sincere vows and dedicated cultivation of the Buddha’s disciples, the accumulated merits will be universally shared. May all ancestors be quickly freed from suffering and attain peace and joy; may nations and societies flourish; may disasters turn into tranquility, suffering transform into enlightenment, and may the world soon emerge from the global inflation crisis, returning to a state of stability and prosperity.
