Various Buddhist Monasteries at North Sumatra, Indonesia Conducted Prayer Ritual Assembly During the Gratitude Lunar Seventh Month.

Mahakaruna News:

On August 25, 2021, the 18th of lunar seventh month, the chief abbot led the Sangha group to Wihara Sahassa Temple in Medan,North Sumatra Indonesia,to recite the “Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s Sutra” and invited Most Venerable Hong Hui to preside over the prayer assembly. After each volume of the Kshitigarbha sutra will accompany with chant of Ullambana Sutra. During the break, the Chief abbot Most Venerable Hui Xiong talked about the practice of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. The four sacred mountains of Mahayana Buddhism in China symbolize “Wisdom, Conduct, Benevolence, and Aspiration.”

It enlightens all disciples of the Lord Buddha, should cut off troubles and ego, cultivate the path of Bodhi, and learn the great compassion and wisdom of the great four Bodhisattvas, one will surely obtain “anuttara-samyak-sambodhi”, Sanskrit word meaning unexcelled complete enlightenment, which is an attribute of every Buddha. It is the highest, correct and complete or universal knowledge universal wisdom or awareness, the perfect wisdom of a Buddha.

The Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva’s great vows are strong and profound. The great Bodhisattva vows to save innumerable living beings and treat all sentient beings in the Six realms equally like his parents and practice filial piety.

The attachment of the sentient beings in the land of Sahā leads to the attachment to the illusion world, people entangled with endless attachments, because of this people have the wrong concept that things are permanent and unchanged. In Buddhism nothing is permanent and unchanging, nothing is constant, everything changes , everything is impermanent. Because of the persistent, clinging and craving, the sentient beings in the Sahā world are plagued by disasters and suffering immensely. All disasters come from our possessiveness and strong attachment, attachment is the root of suffering.

By practice the immeasurable Kshitigarbha Dharma, follow the teaching of the great Bodhisattva, will realize and understand impermanence as the cornerstone of Buddhist teachings and practice. All that exists is impermanent; nothing lasts. Therefore nothing can be grasped or held onto. Impermanence is inescapable. Everything vanishes. Therefore there is nothing more important than continuing the Bodhi path with diligence, remained fully mindful and calm and at the same time practice filial piety, honoring and respecting ones parents. The merits of devoutly repent, cultivate compassion and reciting the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva sutra will surely bring peace to the society, and the world will be free from all calamities.

Giving and offering can eliminate ego, greed, hatred, and all ignorance. Being able to donate and offer the Triple Gems of one’s most beloved things can achieve good deeds, cultivate blessings and wisdom, and attain bodhi path.

We can transform our minds using the Buddha’s teachings.
